says to ALL: Having gotten the tags from El, I was pleased at how easily that had gone. I headed out and just bought the cabin outright, since it was for sale and all, and now I would do the things to make it my own. There were a lot of advantages to being of the Builder's Caste, that was for sure. Much had to be done, and the cabin was only the beginning.
The first thing I did was really LOOK at everything, cehcking for damage and so on. I sent some of my slaves to my ship to get more things off before they left, since it appeared I would in fact be simply remaining here. The first thing I had them get, and put together with the help of some of the men was a large pole barn that went up beside the cabin, and just fit in the perimeter of the property. So, the sounds of hammering and the like would be heard as that was put together. I headed inside, studying the wall, to figure where I'd put a door that would go to the area that would soon become an extended patio. I marked it out with a bit of chalk, and then once the pole barn was up, all the things I'd just moved in would be carried out. I would totally empty the cabin and cover everything to keep it safe. Now, I could really plan. I left only one small table, and took out some paper to write and draw on, as well as a straight edge. I then set myself to plotting the overall layout of my cabin.

says to ALL: It was definite that a second floor would be a thing. I liked having plenty of room, and tended to have guests in the form of my crew if nobody else, so liked my living quarters to be separate. I got some measuring tapes and headed outside to get the measurements of the cabin's exterior, and came back to jot down those numbers and then went back to my planning. Soon, I had a duplicate really of the lower floor. I marked my intentions for each room, and then headed out to get a ladder and go check out the roof.
I climbed up effortlessly really and got onto the roof, checking out shingles to see how many might need to be replaced outright. I already had an idea of how I was going to go about this, and it wouldn't even involve risking structure durability, since I'd not be taking the full roof out. I did however begin taking shingles off, tossing them down for the men to gather and put in bins. Once that was done, I got down, and had them go get the pieces of the lumber mill that we had designed to be more portable.
